The new tool also has enormous statistical and file tracking system capabilities and can be used in Radiology Departments, Hospitals, Offices and Imaging Centers to manage transcriptionist time as well as the automated distribution of reports via fax, email, printer, etc.

Medweb's Dictation, Transcription and Practice Management System(TM) is a web-based HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act of 1996, Public Law 104-191) Also known as the "Kennedy-Kassebaum Act," this U.S. law protects employees' health insurance coverage when they change or lose their jobs (Title I) and provides standards for patient health,  compliant application targeted to radiology practices and their specific needs. The system is a fully functional, seamless dictation and transcription system. A dictation microphone can be used to directly upload sound files to the server from a user's PC/Browser. From there, the files are transferred to our Transcription Management software.

In addition, numerous web-based reports can be generated to provide the user with extensive information: radiologists' productivity, turnaround time (1) In batch processing, the time it takes to receive finished reports after submission of documents or files for processing. In an online environment, turnaround time is the same as response time.  for both radiologists and transcriptionists, average voice file aging, and tracking of individual dictations throughout the dictation/transcription process. It is also possible to easily reassign dictations between transcriptionists. Dictations are displayed as .wav files The native digital audio format in Windows. Using the .WAV file extension, 8- or 16-bit samples can be taken at rates of 11,025 Hz, 22,050 Hz and 44,100 Hz. The highest quality (16-bit at 44,100 Hz) is the sampling rate of an audio CD and uses 88KB of storage per second. , individually labeled with the patient name and medical record number. Dictations can be directly uploaded using the Medweb Image Viewer See viewer.  Plugin(TM) along with a number of compatible .wav producing devices: Philips SpeechMike(TM), or digital handheld recorders from Olympus, Panasonic, or Sony. It is also possible to do dictation over the phone via an 800 number dial-in complete with keypad A small keyboard or supplementary keyboard keys; for example, the keys on a calculator or the number/cursor cluster on a computer keyboard. Medweb's Dictation, Transcription and Practice Management System(TM) also include several accounting functions such as creating and sending invoices, automatic payments (to transcriptionists, editors, and other personnel), and accounts receivable accounts receivable n. the amounts of money due or owed to a business or professional by customers or clients.
