Marketing and Technology Agreement to Create Integrated Handheld

Software Solution--Combining Point of Care Charge Capture With

Dictation And Report Management Capabilities

Dictaphone(R) Corporation and MedAptus, Inc. jointly announced today that they have signed an agreement that allows Dictaphone to market the MedAptus(TM) Charges in Hand(TM) mobile coding software.

The two companies will develop an integrated solution on a Pocket PC handheld device that combines Dictaphone's dictation technology with the MedAptus physician charge capture technology. Dictaphone will promote and support the offering through its national sales and service organizations.

Physicians use the Charges in Hand mobile coding software to more easily identify procedures performed, using an intuitive pen-based graphical user interface on a hand-held Pocket PC application, that offers easy and rapid access to thousands of ICD-9-CM diagnosis and CPT-4 procedure codes. Physician-indicated charges are automatically reviewed against national and state billing guidelines using sophisticated rule-sets to assure confident, accurate and standardized physician coding at the point of care. Coded information is transmitted wirelessly to a central server location where it is immediately available, for review and billing, via secure Internet/Intranet access.

This process promotes more complete and accurate coding of procedure and diagnostic codes and greater billing efficiency through the elimination of paper-based processes. Physicians will also be able to dictate, edit, and sign reports on the same device used for charge capture, and voice files will be routed to Dictaphone's industry-leading Enterprise Express(R) system for seamless report generation and management.
