Dictaphone Corporation Names Skrzypczak Chief Operating Officer.

STRATFORD, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 22, 1998--Joseph D. Skrzypczak has been named chief operating officer of Dictaphone Corporation, it was announced today by John H. Duerden, the company's chairman and chief executive officer.

Skrzypczak has been Dictaphone's chief financial officer since 1994 and was made senior vice president in 1997. He was elected to the company's board of directors in 1995. Earlier, he held a series of senior management positions at Pitney Bowes Inc., which he joined in 1981. Before that, he worked for Revlon, Inc., and Price Waterhouse. He is a certified public accountant and a graduate of Fordham University.

"Mr. Skrzypczak's long service and financial expertise will serve us well as we seek to consolidate our recent successes in the marketplace and deliver the financial results that will help the company reach its full potential," said Duerden. "He's ideally suited to take on these important leadership challenges."

Reporting to Skrzypczak in his new position will be all of the company's major product groups: Communications Recording Systems, Integrated Healthcare Systems and Integrated Voice Systems. He will also be responsible for the company's Customer Services Operations and IS department. He will retain his CFO duties until a replacement is found for that position.

Skrzypczak and his family are residents of Bethel, Conn.
