Dictaphone Announces Sale of Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS) Division to Bulova Technologies LLC; Continues Company's Strategy To Focus Resources on Core Healthcare IT Market.


STRATFORD, Conn. -- Dictaphone Corporation announced today the sale of its Electronic Manufacturing Systems (EMS) Division to Bulova Technologies LLC (Logical Link Control) See "LANs" under data link protocol.

Dictaphone EMS is located in Melbourne, Florida Melbourne is a city in Brevard County, Florida, United States. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 71,382. As of 2005, the population estimated by the U.S. Census Bureau is 76,646. , and is engaged in the contract manufacturing of sophisticated electronic products for a variety of well-known companies. EMS currently employs approximately 340 employees.

Stephen L. Gurba, President and Chief Executive Officer of Bulova Technologies LLC, said that the two organizations provide a natural complement for each other. EMS complements Bulova Technologies' core strength in contract manufacturing and provides additional depth of management. Each organization should benefit by the broadening of experience and the introduction of new customers.

Dictaphone's sale of the Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS) Division unit is part of its continuing strategy to create a company focused principally on the healthcare information technology market.
