Byline: By BARRY WALLACE

DANISH new boy Kenni Arendt will make his debut for the Newcastle Sapphire Engineering

Diamonds in a Premier League match at Stoke on Saturday, replacing the injured George Stancl.

Arendt, 20, rides for Holstebro in the Danish Superleague and has been signed by the Diamonds' promoters following a series of good scores for his club.

Bjarne Pedersen is the main man at Holstebro, and he and Arendt rode together two nights ago in a narrow 43-40 defeat by rivals Holsted.

Arendt notched nine (paid 10) in that match to confirm him as one of Denmark's rising stars.

Two months ago, Arendt won a semi-final of the Danish Under-21 Championship, scoring 14 points.

He finished in the middle of the pack in the final itself, notching seven points.

Newcastle co-promoter Darryl Illingworth said: "After the very disappointing year we have had, our fans will be expecting us to make changes for 2009.

"If Kenni lives up to what we have been told, he will be in the frame for next season."

However, Illingworth confirmed they are considering using just one rider in his place.
