Diamond to Deliver Range of Advanced Graphics and Connectivity Solutions to Windows NT 4.0 Market; Company Leverages Silicon Independence and Driver Design Expertise to Penetrate Growing Windows NT Market.

Advanced Drivers

Diamond Multimedia will offer advanced, second-generation Windows NT 4.0 drivers with new graphics subsystems shipping this fall, including its Fire GL line of professional 3D accelerators. New NT 4.0 drivers will also be available for its Supra A relational DBMS from Cincom Systems, Inc., Cincinnati, OH (www.cincom.com) that runs on IBM mainframes and VAXs. Diamond's engineering group is currently working on an optimized driver design for its Stealth 3D 3000 accelerator that will provide Window NT 4.0 users with multi-monitor support, in addition to OpenGL and DirectDraw II support. Diamond Multimedia expects these new drivers to become available before the end of the year.

Diamond's Windows NT 4.0 Professional Graphics Products

Combining Microsoft's Windows NT 4.0 with a Pentium Pro The sixth generation of the Intel x86 family of CPU chips. The term may refer to the chip or to a PC that uses it. Diamond's upcoming Fire GL 1000, with prices starting well under $1,000, also features Diamond-enhanced Windows NT drivers and Direct3D API (Application Programming Interface) A language and message format used by an application program to communicate with the operating system or some other control program such as a database management system (DBMS) or communications protocol.  support.

Diamond's Stealth 3D 3000XL media accelerator provides corporate Windows NT users with improved overall system performance through 2D, digital video and 3D acceleration, and is particularly beneficial for corporate users needing fast refresh rates and high resolutions for running applications on 17-inch monitors.

The company's Supra NetCommander ISDN digital modem plans to sport new Windows NT 4.0 drivers, enabling corporate users and telecommuters to access the Internet or Intranets at speeds up to 128,000 Kbps.
