Diamond Power Acquires Automatic Port Rodder Cleaning Company in Sweden.

LANCASTER, Ohio--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 4, 2002

Diamond Superior AB, Sollentuna, Sweden, a subsidiary of Diamond Power International Inc. (DPII DPII Discovery Partners International, Inc. ), a leader in advanced boiler cleaning technology, has announced its 100 percent acquisition of LT-Produkter Skutskar AB, an automatic port rodder cleaning company in Skutskar, Sweden. The acquisition will reinforce Diamond's leadership position in the supply of boiler cleaning and diagnostic products for the pulp and paper recovery market. The terms of the purchase were not disclosed.

"This acquisition is a good one for Diamond Power because it adds to our extensive boiler cleaning product and service lines," said Hans-Erik Mattsson, managing director of Diamond Power Specialty Ltd. "It also will open significant new growth opportunities and provide us with an even stronger presence in the pulp and paper recovery market."

LT-Produkter Skutskar AB, located approximately 15 kilometers (9.3 miles) from Gavle, Sweden, has been and will continue to manufacture its port rodder product called (a)Rodding Robot(R), at its Skutskar facility. The product automates air port cleaning in black liquor Black liquor is a byproduct of the Kraft process, (also known as Kraft pulping or sulfate process) during the production of paper pulp. Wood is decomposed into cellulose fibers (from which paper is made), hemicellulose and lignin fragments.  recovery boilers to increase steam production and reduce emissions. The inventor of Rodding Robot, Tore Eriksson, founded LT-Produkter Skutskar AB in 1985.
