Diamond Multimedia to Participate in RIAA's Secure Digital Music Initiative.

Diamond Intends to Join Coalition

of Record, Technology and Consumer Electronics Companies

to Address New Digital Music Opportunities

Diamond Multimedia Systems Inc. (Nasdaq:DIMD DIMD Dorland's Illustrated Medical Dictionary ), a leader in interactive multimedia and PC entertainment, today announced that it intends to participate in the newly formed Secure Digital Music Initiative Secure Digital Music Initiative (SDMI) was a forum formed in late 1998, comprised of more than 200 IT, consumer electronics, security technology, ISP and recording industry companies, ostensibly with the purpose of developing technology specifications that protected the  (SDMI (Secure Digital Music Initiative) A set of rules for securely distributing digital music over the Internet.
