The
 Power Series(TM) Systems based on the PowerPC processor. Expected to be available from IBM PC Direct on August 31st, the Stealth64 3000 series will provide fast acceleration of graphics under Windows NT 3.51 and will soon support AIX (Advanced Interactive eXecutive) IBM's Unix-based operating system which runs on its Intellistation workstations and pSeries, p5, iSeries and i5 server families. .

Stealth64 3000 Series

Based on Diamond's Stealth64 acceleration technology, Diamond has developed two Stealth64 products for IBM's Power Series that boost graphics performance for most applications including word processing, spreadsheets, desktop publishing and CAD.

The Stealth64 3240 IBM (International Business Machines Corporation, Armonk, NY, www.ibm.com) The world's largest computer company. IBM's product lines include the S/390 mainframes (zSeries), AS/400 midrange business systems (iSeries), RS/6000 workstations and servers (pSeries), Intel-based servers (xSeries)  PPS (Packets Per Second) The measurement of activity in a local area network (LAN). In LANs such as Ethernet, Token Ring and FDDI, as well as the Internet, data is broken up and transmitted in packets (frames), each with a source and destination address.  Edition with 2MB of VRAM See video RAM.

VRAM - video random-access memory
 upgradable to 4MB and the Stealth64 3400 IBM PPS Edition with 4MB of VRAM both use the PCI bus and support resolutions of up to 1600x1200, color depths to 16.7 million colors and refresh rates as high as 120 Hz.

Both IBM PPS Edition accelerators are based upon the S3 Vision968 accelerator and have a Texas Instruments 3026 175MHz RAMDAC (Random Access Memory Digital to Analog Converter) The VGA controller chip that maintains the color palette and converts data from memory into analog signals for the monitor.

. The Diamond engineered drivers provide accelerated functions including line drawing, bitblit, pattern copy and area fills. Additionally, diagnostics are included that test the various components of the Stealth64 3000 IBM PPS series accelerator.

The Stealth64 3000 IBM PPS products are expected to be available August 31st exclusively from IBM PC Direct at 800/426-7693.
