Expanded DM3 IPLink(tm) Product Line Delivers Real-Time Fax Over

IP Based on T.38 Standard

Dialogic Corporation (NASDAQ: DLGC) (Booth No. 1) today announced it has implemented the industry's first standards-based solution for delivering real-time fax over Internet Protocol (IP). This capability, based on the emerging ITU T.38 standard, adds real-time fax to the DM3 IPLink line of products, the industry's first complete, H.323 standards-based server development platform for building IP telephony solutions. It provides a powerful platform for sophisticated applications such as public network and enterprise fax and voice/fax over IP networks.

Powerful Solution for Applications Over IP

Dialogic is demonstrating the capabilities of the new real-time fax standard at the VON (Voice On the Net) Show, taking place this week in San Jose, California. The Dialogic IP telephony demonstration shows a powerful solution for corporate and carrier-class IP telephony applications combining voice and fax.

Also on display are two fully operational H.323 IP telephony gateways. In this configuration, a voice phone call, placed from the handset of a fax machine, is connected over the IP network using either the G.723.1 or G.711 voice coder. When a fax transmission starts, the H.323 gateway immediately detects the fax tone, switches to fax mode and delivers the fax in real time using the T.38 fax standard. As soon as the fax has been sent, the call returns to voice mode.

The new DM3 IPLink Release 3 demonstrated at CT Expo and on display this week, also includes an on-board network interface controller, PSTN interfaces and an integrated H.323 protocol stack. The demo, consisting of a 480-port IP telephony chassis (8 boards with 60 GSM ports each), is based on DM3 hardware. In addition, Dialogic will demonstrate an SS7 - IP gateway with DM3 IPLink running in a Compact PCI(R) (cPCI) chassis.
