Dialogic(R) Broadens TDM/IP Hybrid Offering by Adding ISDN BRI Connectivity to Host Media Processing.

MONTREAL -- Dialogic Corporation ("Dialogic") today announced the release of a new version of Diva SIPcontrol software. By using off-the-shelf Diva BRI See ISDN.

BRI - Basic Rate Interface
telephony adapters, Dialogic Host Media Processing In the past, when you wanted to connect a computer to a telco network, it was always necessary to have a physical interface, a telco socket. This could mean an analog phone line (see PSTN), or in the case of digital networks an ISDN or T1/E1 line.  (HMP HMP - hybrid multiprocessing ) software, and the new release of Diva SIPcontrol software developers can deploy SIP and HMP based unified messaging Having access to e-mail, voice mail and faxes via a common computer application or by telephone. For example, unified messaging may send faxes and digitized voice mail to a mail server that turns them into e-mail attachments. , IVR (Interactive Voice Response) An automated telephone information system that speaks to the caller with a combination of fixed voice menus and data extracted from databases in real time.  and contact center application into existing BRI network environments.

The combination of Diva SIPcontrol and Diva BRI telephony adapters creates an ISDN BRI ISDN BRI Integrated Services Digital Network Basic Rate Interface (also seen as ISDN-BRI)  to SIP gateway subsystem that can be integrated into a Windows[R] server running an HMP application. This approach enables the application and the gateway subsystem to communicate via the open and standards-based SIP protocol. Call control information of the Diva telephony board is translated into SIP messages and voice channels are converted into IP packets and streamed via the RTP (1) (Rapid Transport Protocol) The protocol used in IBM's High Performance Routing (HPR) system.

(2) (Realtime Transport Protocol) An IP protocol that supports real time transmission of voice and video.
 protocol into the HMP environment.

"We are very excited to introduce an integrated solution set from the Eicon and Intel product families to the market so rapidly after the creation of the new Dialogic," states Jim Machi, VP of Marketing for Dialogic. "The combination of our market leading HMP software and BRI ISDN ISDN

Digital telecommunications network that operates over standard copper telephone wires or other media.
telephony interfaces provide a compelling hybrid solution that fits the needs of SIP application developers who need to deploy their systems into both TDM (Time Division Multiplexing) A technology that transmits multiple signals simultaneously over a single transmission path. Each lower-speed signal is time sliced into one high-speed transmission.  and VoIP networks."

The 'glue' that brings this solution together is the Diva SIPcontrol software, effectively a media gateway that interfaces the telephony adapters to the HMP software. Dialogic looks forward to extending this solution set to other Diva telephony adapters, both digital and analog, in the near future with global availability.

"As a former value added Value Added

This can either increase the products price or value.
distributor for both Eicon and Intel communication technologies, we are encouraged to see the immediate benefit of the combined product lines that Dialogic has delivered," states Josef Bressner for Bressner Technology GmbH. "The Diva BRI boards and HMP software are a winning combination for enterprise developers seeking to deploy IP based applications into today's hybrid network environment."

The solution also handles T.30 and T.38 fax via the DSP (1) (Digital Signal Processor) A special-purpose CPU used for digital signal processing applications (see definition #2 below). It provides ultra-fast instruction sequences, such as shift and add, and multiply and add, which are commonly used in math-intensive  resources of the Diva telephony boards which terminate the TDM fax call and convert V.34 fax modulation into fax over IP for transport. As a result, fax information can be relayed to the HMP application using the industry standard T.38 protocol. The addition of the fax protocol enables unified messaging and multi-mode contact center applications to take advantage of this new solution set from Dialogic.

Diva SIPcontrol v1.2 software for Windows is currently available as a beta release for test and development. General availability is expected in January 2007. Dialogic BRI telephony adapters and Dialogic Host Media Processing software are currently available through value added distributors of Dialogic products.
