boards designed for large scale PC-based systems, is now shipping.

High-end developers -- from ISVs to VARs to OEMs -- are hailing the DualSpan D/480SC-2T1 as the industry's first 48 port voice processing card to include two digital network spans in a single PC slot. Developers who want to build large voice processing systems can now comfortably fit a 336 port voice processing system in a single PC.

The DualSpan D/240SC-2T1 version is uniquely positioned as "call completion on a card," since it has two ports of network interface for every port of voice processing. This makes it ideal for today's most lucrative debit card debit card, card that allows the cost of goods or services that are purchased to be deducted directly from the purchaser's checking account. They can also be used at automated teller machines for withdrawing cash from the user's checking account.  and international call back applications, which do not require fully populated voice processing boards. The D/240SC-2T1, which also fits into a single slot, is significantly less expensive than buying separate boards, one for network interface and one for voice processing.

"The DualSpan will enable us to provide higher density systems that take up the same footprint," said Tony Shay shay

The DualSpan boasts 35 percent fewer components than two single span cards, and also reduces power consumption by 30 percent -- an increasingly important consideration for many high end developers.

"The advanced packaging and ASIC (Application Specific Integrated Circuit) Pronounced "a-sick." "Like our flagship SingleSpan product family, the DualSpan is another `industry first,' setting a new performance benchmark worldwide."

Price and Related Benefits

The DualSpan represents a major cost savings to high-end developers limited by the number of slots available in a single chassis. Until Dialogic introduced its DualSpan, developers had to resort to an expensive passive backplane to build a 288 port voice processing system. The DualSpan now enables them -- for the first time -- to build such a system using the ubiquitous and far less expensive six slot server towers.

In addition to surpassing these previous slot limitations, customers can now save as much as 25 percent off of today's single span pricing, on a per port basis. Dialogic also offers free ISDN ISDN

, with protocols available in over 50 countries, and no hidden charges for run time software fees.

No Application Change

Developers can immediately benefit from reduced slot requirements without changes to their application. The DualSpan series supports application development under Windows NT, UNIX UNIX

and DOS operating systems. An application written for Dialogic's SCbus products can now work on boards ranging from the four port D/41ESC See escape character and escape key. See also ESC/P.

, all the way up to the new 48 port D/480SC-2T1.

The DualSpan augments the company's DIALOG/HD product line, which today consists of 13 voice processing and intelligent network interface components, all with SCbus connectivity. All DIALOG/HD DualSpan products offer open algorithm voice coding, PitchPerfect Speed Control, and Global Tone Detection and Generation.

The series also offers Call Progress Analysis with Patented Positive Answering Machine Detection, more than 30 GlobalCall E-1 CAS and ISDN protocols worldwide, and will be available with integrated Global Dial Pulse Detection.
