for more than 20 years, I've see daily cases of diabetes-related fungal infections," said Dr. Robert Blaine, President of Blaine Labs Inc. "Unfortunately, most patients will admit that they were not aware of the dangers that could result from these infections until it is too late. As such, it is my personal and professional mission to help raise awareness of this issue and to create products that help in the prevention and treatment of fungal infections, specifically on the skin surrounding nails."

In an effort to help educate diabetic patients about maintaining healthy feet and preventing foot fungus, Dr. Blaine recommends the following tips:

--Observe: Check both sides of your feet regularly for signs or symptoms of a developing toenail fungus.

--Cleanse: Wash your feet every day with lukewarm water and soap and dry your feet well, especially in between the toes.

--Maintain: Trim toenails straight across to avoid ingrown nails and keep the skin on your feet smooth by applying lotion or cream daily. Use a non-medicated powder before putting on socks or shoes to keep feet dry.

--Relief: If signs or symptoms appear, use Tineacide Antifungal Cream, the only topical remedy that is clinically proven to kill the skin fungus that contributes to fungal nails.

Clinical Evaluation

In 1995, three Southern California Podiatry podiatry (pōdī`ətrē, pə–), science concerned with disorders, diseases, and deformities of the feet, also called chiropody. Podiatrists treat such common conditions as bunions, corns and calluses, and ingrown toenails.  Clinics demonstrated that patients who used Dr. Blaine's Tineacide Antifungal Cream reported significant resolution of nail fungus. Patients were instructed to apply one small drop of Tineacide to each affected nail twice a day, once in the morning and once in the evening.

The study took place over a nine-month period and included 201 consenting patients who had at least one toenail exhibiting clinical onychomycosis for a minimum of one year. The average patient had four affected nails and more than 80% of the nails were completely involved with onychomycosis. Results showed that 94% of patients who used Tineacide reported moderate, significant or complete resolution of nail fungus just after two weeks of use.
