Diabetes Day; VIEWPOINTS.

I AM writing to ask you to encourage your readers to support leading health charity Diabetes UK onWorld Diabetes Day which takes place today.

I have had Type 1 diabetes since I was 17 and know just how much it can affect every area of your life. I have recently taken a diabetes education course which helped me to understand and manage my diabetes.

Now Diabetes UK is calling for better education, more psychological support and quality tailored information for people with diabetes. There are three million people with diabetes in the UK and this number is set to rise to more than four million by 2025. If the condition is not managed well, diabetes can lead to devastating complications such as heart disease, stroke and amputation - so it is vital that we do all we can to help people control their diabetes.
