DiPrima, SVP/GMM for Parisian, Adds Home to Responsibilities.

Saks Incorporated (NYSE: SKS) (the "Company") today announced that Doug DiPrima, Senior Vice President/General Merchandise Manager of Cosmetics, Shoes, Accessories, and Intimate Apparel for Parisian, will assume the additional responsibility for Parisian's decorative home business. The change is effective immediately. DiPrima will continue to report to Rob Gruen, President and CEO of Parisian.

Rob Gruen noted, "We are very pleased to appoint Doug DiPrima to this expanded role within Parisian. Doug is a talented and proven merchant, and his leadership has been instrumental in making Parisian the `special' department store that it is today. Doug will assure that we offer our discerning customers the distinctive and unique decorative home and gift assortments that they deserve."

DiPrima joined Parisian in 1986 as a buyer and was promoted to Divisional Vice President/Divisional Merchandise Manager for Shoes in 1994. In 1998, he was promoted to his most recent post of Senior Vice President/General Merchandise Manager. Prior to joining Parisian, DiPrima held various merchandising positions with Macy's.

Saks Incorporated operates Saks Department Store Group ("SDSG") which consists of 41 Parisian specialty department stores and 202 traditional department stores under the names of Proffitt's, McRae's, Younkers, Herberger's, Carson Pirie Scott, Bergner's, and Boston Store. Parisian stores are known for their unique store design, high level of personalized customer service, and exceptional assortment of distinct merchandise offerings.
