DiBcom and Elgato Partner to Make TV Truly Mobile for Apple Devices; TV Receiver Solutions Include DVB-T Single Digital and Dual/Diversity USB Sticks.

PALAISEAU, France -- DVB-T pioneers DiBcom and Elgato today announced an expanded partnership. As part of this, DiBcom will provide Elgato with the latest single and dual tuner/diversity chipsets to support its digital terrestrial television (DTT) solution for Apple MacBooks and Mac desktop devices. Named "EyeTV Diversity," this solution is based on DiBcom's DiB7700 chipset family and Elgato's award-winning EyeTV 2 software. EyeTV Diversity will be available in late 2006.

DiBcom has chosen Elgato as its premier partner for interface driver development and support within the Apple world. The new recently introduced "EyeTV for DTT" product from Elgato is the first result of this collaboration and the first Macintosh accessory in the market using DiBcom's highly-integrated DIB7700-P chip, which combines DVB-T reception and a USB 2.0 interface. Elgato's EyeTV software also enables recording and downloading TV to Apple's video iPods.

Diversity has become mandatory for "deep indoor" and mobile reception, and increases reception in locations with weak TV signals. Dual antenna technology from DiBcom improves indoor coverage area by up to 50 percent, like the MiMo reception approach for Wi-Fi. DiBcom's proven-performance diversity technology improves mobile TV reception and decreases reception "dead zone" areas.

DiBcom's New DIB-7070 Chipset Family

The new "2 in 1" low power (400mW) DIB7070-P chipset, ideal for notebook PCs or other portable TV solutions, combines a three band (UHF, VHF, and L band) tuner with demodulator technology and facilitates highly integrated, single or diversity (dual tuner) approaches for "deep indoor" DVB-T reception on laptops. By avoiding the need for several other components (e.g. SAW, Crystal), it offers the lowest cost and smallest DVB-T receiver front-end on the market today with better performance than the ones based on in-can tuners, but with the same simplicity of integration.

The DIB7070-M mobile-oriented chipset will be DiBcom's first generation of "2 in 1" chipsets, allowing true mobile reception for personal TV equipment in cars, PCs, portable media players (PMPs) or portable LCD TVs supporting DVB-T and DVB-H standards.

DIB7070-M and -P chipsets are scheduled for mass production during the last quarter of this year.
