Di Matteo backs striker.


ALBION head coach Roberto Di Matteo Roberto Di Matteo (born May 29, 1970 in Schaffhausen, Switzerland) is a Swiss-Italian former professional footballer. A midfielder, his career consisted of spells at Schaffhausen (1988-91), Zürich (1991-92), Aarau (1992-93), Lazio (1993-96), and Chelsea (1996-2002).  is confident Simon Cox Simon Cox is the name of:

Cox was given a hero's welcome by Swindon fans as he made his first return to Town following his recent pounds 1.9 million move to The Hawthorns.

The striker has yet to score following an injury-blighted few weeks for Albion, but Di Matteo believes Cox's first goal is imminent.

"Simon is a bit behind because he has had a bit of a problem with his ankle," said the Baggies gaffer. You can see he hasn't quite got his sharpness. But I am sure that once he gets one goal under his belt he will be fine."

Di Matteo added: "It is a concern that he is a bit late coming back into the squad but he will be back and when he is he is a very good player for this club so we will wait for him."
