Devon IT today announced the release of the NTAVO 5.0 appliance. Based on IBM (International Business Machines Corporation, Armonk, NY, www.ibm.com) The world's largest computer company. The NTAVO 5.0 Appliance is built on an IBM e-Server running Linux. It enables enterprises to securely extend their critical applications to remote users and strategic partners via PCs or a thin browser-based client. These applications can be Microsoft(R) Windows(R), UNIX UNIX

The NTAVO 5.0 Appliance enables enterprises to effectively restrict access to authenticated users. It can authenticate the username and password against users stored in a variety of different data stores including Unix passwords, Microsoft Active Directory, and LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol) A protocol used to access a directory listing. LDAP support is implemented in Web browsers and e-mail programs, which can query an LDAP-compliant directory. .
