Developing a Carpet-Comb Personal Opinion

This is a personal view on developing a product i.e a carpet comb.

Let us call the teeth that are on a hair comb I had an idea for a product which I didn''t pursue. But I am writing about it here, I didn''t think of the product carefully and now with time I can think of it clearly. Also unlike great inventors, there was no possibility of me personally testing the product so why would I put something in the shops and stores ( if my idea was lucky to get that far) when I never tested it myself and I was uncertain whether I would use it. I suggested a carpet ''comb'' idea that could comb through tufted carpets.

Tufted carpets are the carpets in many office spaces. They are probably considered ordinary carpets but I thought that dirt could easily get stuck in the carpet. The question here is what does ''get stuck'' mean? Does dirt easily get stick or rather is it difficult to get the dirt out. Would one need something more powerful than a carpet comb? Anyway a carpet comb would be very manual and society seems to have gone beyond the manual? Anyway a carpet comb would perhaps only be suitable for a tufted carpet if at all so its market range would be weak.

Still the idea of a carpet comb makes one think of the nature of combs, the nature of carpets and the nature of tufting too. Yes there are many kinds of carpets. But what makes a tufted carpet stand out? Is it right to say that a tufted carpet stains more easily than a knitted or woollen one. Is this because of the absence of a pile? Does a tufted carpet have a pile? These are questions that I would like to find the answer to and if one was interested in developing a carpet comb or a carpet comb as an accessory to a larger product which could be electrically and not manually powered. The idea of kneeling on a carpet and combing through the carpet is not an attractive one. But my idea was that if dirt fell onto the floor of a room and you just wanted to clean out and comb out one area i.e. by leaning down from a chair and just combing the dirt out and then sweeping into a bag//dust-bin. Is this a viable idea?

Perhaps this is an idea for a pound shop but then if one saw this product in a pound shop you perhaps wouldn''t realise it was a speciality comb so the speciality comb would have to have a reasonable price to show off its speciality. And that brings us in passing to the comb itself and its structure, the nature of its teeth, its handle etc...In passing, I chose a comb rather than a brush because I feel that a brush wouldn''t be powerful enough to sift through a carpet especially the tufted carpets that I mention.
