In an effort to restore and renovate the 120-year-old brownstones, which were originally built as five distinct townhouses, Alchemy retained Hustvedt Cutler Architects. The developer gutted the buildings except for the interior and exterior walls, and added two and one-half additional stories to the existing five-story structure.
