Wilf followed the presentation with an unexpected surprise. He announced his commitment to further support Carl Schurz Park with the pledge of $500 from the sale of each 170 East End Avenue apartment to the association. The pledge, could bring as much as an additional $55,000 to Carl Schurz Park. The evening also celebrated the strong sales response enjoyed by the 20-story luxury condominium rising on East End Avenue between 87th and 88th Streets. Louise M. Sunshine, of The Sunshine Group, Ltd., the exclusive sales and marketing agency for the building remarked, "170 East End Avenue sets a new standard for family living. In just a week, we had 14 contracts out for signature." Wilf added, "The extraordinary response to 170 East End Avenue reflects strong demand for the family-sized apartment of three, four or five bedrooms homes--and for 170 East End Avenue's amenities that cater to the whole family."
