, Calif. -- DevZuz, the open source delivery platform that links enterprise businesses to open source projects and processes, has announced a new name to reflect its refined focus on enabling enterprises to take advantage of leading open source technologies and best practices throughout the application development life cycle.

Responding directly to customer demand, DevZuz has evolved from Simula Labs, a successful open source venture partner with more than 55 customers, 35% of which are Global 2000 organizations, to a stand-alone vendor offering the delivery platform to connect businesses directly to open source projects and developers.

DevZuz is uniquely positioned to enable enterprise IT organizations, which require access to open source components for faster time-to-market delivery capabilities, with the professional-grade backing of a subscription support infrastructure and enforceable service level agreements for all DevZuz-hosted open source artifacts artifacts

"In the current climate, technically-savvy enterprise businesses have stopped asking whether it is a good idea to adopt open source, and are starting to ask when, how and where open source can fit into their IT infrastructure," Winston Damarillo, Executive Chairman of DevZuz, explains. "At DevZuz, we strongly believe that rapid, collaborative open source development practices represent the future of software development, and we will provide the shortest, most elegant route between open source and the enterprise."

To complete DevZuz's transition from a venture partner, it has sold its interest, including technology, intellectual property and customers, in LogicBlaze, Inc. to IONA Technologies IONA Technologies, NASDAQ: IONA, began life as a campus company in Trinity College, Dublin and was founded by Chris Horn, Annrai O'Toole, Colin Newman and Seán Baker.[1][2] IONA maintains headquarter offices in Dublin, Boston and Tokyo. . Proceeds from the all-cash sale will be re-invested to further accelerate the progress of DevZuz, which has also recently completed its consolidated Series A financing of $ 9.25 million with backing from Mission Ventures and Redpoint Ventures.

"The sale of LogicBlaze represents a validation of our initial strategy to foster a successful development environment for open source companies," Damarillo said. "While we have evolved from pure incubation work, we still look forward to working alongside companies like IONA to promote innovation in open source solutions."

Current LogicBlaze customers will continue to receive uninterrupted, expert support and services for their mission-critical technologies.
