 roll goods continued their mid-single digit growth in 2006, reaching nearly US$16 bn. Of the 2006 total, about 75% of sales, worth around US$12.2 bn, was generated by just 40 producers.

Sales of the 20 medium sized producers profiled in this report--which rank from number 11 to number 30 among the world's leading companies--ranged individually from US$100 mn to US$225 mn and together accounted for about 18% of the global total.

Companies ranking 11-30 include long established players as well as new ones. Hollingsworth & Vose has been in the business for more than 160 years but Western Nonwovens, Pegas Nonwovens, and Concert Industries are relatively new companies. Recent investments among the 20 companies include new lines in the Czech Republic Czech Republic, Czech Česká Republika (2005 est. pop. 10,241,000), republic, 29,677 sq mi (78,864 sq km), central Europe. It is bordered by Slovakia on the east, Austria on the south, Germany on the west, and Poland on the north.  and Denmark for Fibertex as well as new facilities in China for Toray Saehan.  has added four new lines in the last 18 months and is currently building a factory in China, while a new line has come on stream at Hollingsworth and Vose's Chinese subsidiary. Pegas has added an eighth line and announced plans for a ninth, while Western Nonwovens has added a second line at its site in Clinton, Tennessee Clinton is a city in Anderson County, Tennessee, United States. Its population was 9,409 at the United States Census, 2000. It is the county seat of Anderson CountyGR6. Clinton is included in the "Knoxville, Tennessee Metropolitan Statistical Area". .

Ownership changes include the purchase of Companhia Providencia in Brazil by a group of four equity funds led by AIG AIG addressee indicator group (US DoD)
