) today announced a new partnership with ChoiceRadio.com for the distribution of music using Destiny's MPE(TM) secure media format.

"We're excited to see a high-quality, high-visibility site such as ChoiceRadio embrace the MPE format," says Keith Gillard, Director of Content Development for Destiny Media Technologies. "Artists and music distributors are faced with a lot of challenges in using the Internet to sell music, and ChoiceRadio.com has seen that MPE can meet those challenges."

MPE is a complete, secure media distribution system, with built-in e-commerce, digital rights management, distribution and visual display. MPE files do not require an external player or any other lengthy downloads, as each file contains an embedded media player; MPEs automatically play when clicked on making it extremely user friendly. It works on both PC and Mac platforms, and is a much richer and more powerful marketing tool than any other system on the market today.

ChoiceRadio.com was launched in July of 1999 and is located in the San Francisco Bay area “Bay Area” redirects here. For other uses, see Bay Area (disambiguation).

. ChoiceRadio.com is spearheaded by Val Starr, a veteran radio and records promotion executive whose vision is to create a new exposure medium to help promote, market and sell label music product via the Internet. ChoiceRadio.com currently has over 700,000 monthly user sessions A count of how many times all users access a Web site regardless whether the same person came back several times during the measurement period. If a user leaves and returns within a short time, some systems count those sessions as one. Contrast with unique visitors. See also user session.  and over 380,000 unique users per month.

"MPE makes business sense for a site like ChoiceRadio.com," says Starr. "It's a dynamic solution that allows us to distribute music in an open format and earn revenue that we would otherwise be unable to capture."

MPE files track which website they were distributed by, ensuring that the distributor gets paid for any sales, even when users share their files or pass songs on to others. Because MPE access codes are keyed to each user's individual hard drive, MPE solves the file sharing Copying files from one computer to another. "If a user downloads an MPE from ChoiceRadio, sends that song to a friend, and then that friend buys the track, ChoiceRadio will still get paid a distributor commission," says Gillard. "MPE solves the problems with file sharing not only for the artist who deserves royalty payments, but also for the distributors who make this their business."

The MPE open beta product is now in operation, with full commercial launch scheduled for June 20. Complete product details, pricing and sample MPE tracks are now available at www.destinympe.com.
