The largest hotel company by number of rooms (556,000 as of March 2007 ), its headquarters are in Windsor just outside Greater London and , is set to open its first hotel in the Russian Federation Russian Federation: see Russia. in early 2007. The property, originally built for the 1980 Olympics, is undergoing extensive renovation to bring it up to Crowne Plaza standards. With 572 guest rooms the Crowne Plaza Moscow is situated in the heart of the city and is part of the World Trade Center building. It will have extensive amenities on its doorstep including substantial meeting facilities, parking, as well as a shopping mall with restaurants and bars. The amenities within the hotel will complement these and will feature five restaurants and three bars, including a cocktail bar. There will also be a fitness center complete with pool, sauna, steam and treatment rooms. IHG's Holiday Inn brand is already established in Moscow with three hotels in the city providing 767 guestrooms. St. Pancras Eurostar users will greatly benefit from the decision confirmed last week to fit out (in effect complete) the new Thameslink station at King's Cross. It should be ready to take its first passengers at the end of 2007 and will serve the rail line that links Gatwick and Luton airports. Whilst good news in itself, many are asking why the work could not have been undertaken as a direct follow on of the first phase of the station construction, completed in May 2005. For the new work, the line will continue to operate with through trains and not close at all. It will provide a direct link with the new Eurostar complex.
