The Justice Department has not prosecuted any cases involving sexual assaults against civilians who work for contractors in Iraq or Afghanistan, despite a law giving it that authority, according to written testimony submitted to a Senate subcommittee. The department has taken action in 12 cases under the Military Extraterritorial Jurisdiction Act and five of those involved sex crimes, according to Sigal P. Mandelker, deputy attorney general of the Justice Department's criminal division. Her comments came in prepared testimony obtained by The Associated Press Tuesday. In the five sex cases, four were convictions. The convictions were for sexual abuse of a minor by a Defense Department civilian employee in Japan; child pornography Child pornography is the visual representation of minors under the age of 18 engaged in sexual activity or the visual representation of minors engaging in lewd or erotic behavior designed to arouse the viewer's sexual interest.  crimes by DOD (1) (Dial On Demand) A feature that allows a device to automatically dial a telephone number. Amtrak Amtrak, the National Railroad Passenger Corp., authorized to operate virtually all intercity passenger railroad routes in the United States. Amtrak was created by Congress in 1970 in response to more than two decades of continuous operating deficits by privately run

CRA's analysis focused on Amtrak's long- and medium-distance routes outside the Northeast Corridor. Amtrak considers a train to be on-time if it arrives at its destination less than a prescribed number of minutes after its scheduled arrival (the specific thresholds vary depending on the end-to-end route length). In fiscal year 2006, average on-time performance across Amtrak's long-distance and medium-distance routes (excluding the Northeast Corridor) was 30 percent and 67 percent, respectively. For these routes, CRA See Community Reinvestment Act.  found that significant improvements in on-time performance could lead to substantial increases in ridership and revenue. For example, if Amtrak had attained on-time performance values of 75 percent, 85 percent, or 100 percent in fiscal 2006, it could have increased its actual annual revenues by $91 million (15.4 percent), $111 million (18.9 percent), or $143 million (24.3 percent), respectively. Casino Bars are great because they feature live music and are geared to the over-30 set. The more traditional approach still leaves lots of room for fun in an atmosphere that[sup.1]s pressure-free. Unseasonal snow showers that covered much of the UK in white yesterday have turned to sleet sleet, precipitation of small, partially melted grains of ice. As raindrops fall from clouds, they pass through layers of air at different temperatures. If they pass through a layer with a temperature below the freezing point, they turn into sleet.  and rain as temperatures rise across the country, forecasters said today. Sunday's snow showers caused chaos on roads and at airports and the knock-on effects are still being felt today. At Heathrow around 57 flights, 34 of them British Airways flights, have been cancelled, largely because of weather-related disruption on Sunday, the airport regulator BAA said. The weekend snow was in contrast to warm temperatures and sunny weather at the end of last week. Snow in Scotland hampered the search for a light aircraft that had gone missing in the Highlands. The aircraft disappeared from radar as it was crossing the Cairngorms in poor weather on Saturday morning. The coastguard had to rescue two yachts on the south coast and two motorboats lost in poor visibility in the Solent. A spokeswoman said sailors who were setting out in poor visibility needed to navigate without visual aids as "it's like flying blind". Snow in April is not uncommon, according to the Met Office, although heavy falls are unusual. Apr 7, 2008

Not all Las Vegas nightlife is created equal. And, yes, that is a good thing. After all, there is no prototypical Sin City consumer looking to do exactly the same thing when the sun drops. So understanding the different offerings is critical to providing the right recommendations. Aside from shows and concerts, there are three main categories to pay attention to when suggesting a nightlife experience: Mega Clubs, Ultra Lounges and Casino Bars. The Mega Clubs are typically reserved for the under-40 set looking to mix it up in a packed nightclub where a DJ spins the latest hits. Admission can run up to as much as $50 per person. A reserved table with two bottles of booze (the typical minimum) can be $1,000 or more. This is for those looking for a serious party. Ultra Lounges are usually scaled-down versions of Mega Clubs, which appeal to people looking for a similar experience without the crowds. Theyire also not as loud and people who go here are usually looking to sip martinis rather than do shots and drink vodkas mixed with Red Bulls. A small admission may be applied a weekend evening.
