It is bordered by Massachusetts (S), Vermont, with the Connecticut R. forming the boundary (W), the Canadian province of Quebec (NW), and Maine and a short strip of the Atlantic Ocean (E). . Thirty-five percent of those from the Berlin-Gotham area said they are financially worse off than they were five years ago; 32 percent said they are about the same. Only a third said they are better off now. Despite those figures, 52 percent said they feel the valley will be a better place in 10 years. Twenty-eight percent predicted it will be worse.
