Designing frozen food industry clothing depends on input from industry workers.

Dressing for success in the frozen food and refrigerated warehousing industries means keeping warm above all else. And who better than cold storage workers to give advice on how to achieve that? That's why Walls Industries, Cleburne, Texas, USA, seeks their input.

Walls is always looking for ways to improve products. Now its Ice Cap Freezer Wear line has 11.5 ounces of hollow fill insulation providing the heaviest insulation in the industry for temperatures ranging from -50[degrees] to 0[degrees] F.

A tougher outer shell has been added to take the punishment and abuse workers may encounter on a daily basis. The 500 denier nylon outer shell is strong enough to withstand the wind chill at the top of Mount Everest, yet provides enough mobility for a pre-workout stretch.

Reinforced straps on bibs keep them in place, and comfortable. The adjustability means a form-fitting bib that keeps warmth in and the cold out. Extended zippers in legs and body allow for easier access, so workers can easily jump in and out of the clothes, and 1,000 denier condura on cuffs at the bottom of bibs protects from premature destruction where the most abuse takes place.

Rip-Stop Cooler Wear, mean while, has been introduced to meet the need for clothing designed to protect workers in sub-freezing temperatures yet be versatile enough to be comfortable when the temperatures climb.

The new line offers the same quality, features and benefits as Ice Cap Freezer Wear in a lighter, four ounce, 100% nylon rip-stop fabric with a water repellent finish. The fabric itself, the same stuff parachutes are made of, means any tears or punctures are immediately stopped by the material.
