Designer stretches to 110,000 s/f at Monday's 1440 Broadway space.

 Inc. has expanded by approximately 11,000 square feet at 1440 Broadway.

The fashion designer signed for a portion of the fifth floor at the 725,000-square-foot building.

Liz Claiborne was represented in-house in the transaction. Monday Properties was also represented in-house.

"Liz Claiborne is an excellent tenant and a leader in its industry," said Anthony Westreich, president of Monday Properties.

"It is particularly satisfying to work with such a strong organization as it expands its already large tenancy at 1440 Broadway."

The company already leased 99,000 square feet at 1440 Broadway, occupying three full floors. To meet its expansion needs, Liz Claiborne took an additional half floor. Liz Claiborne Inc. was founded in 1976 by partners Liz Claiborne, Art Ortenberg, Leonard Boxer and Jerome Chazen. Liz Claiborne Inc. designs and markets an extensive portfolio of branded women's and men's apparel, accessories and fragrance products.

It runs from Madison Square (23d St.) to the Madison Bridge over the Harlem River (138th St.). In the 1940s and 50s, some of the major U.S.  and 260 Park Avenue South. The company's executive office is located at 230 Park Avenue.
