Designer hangs his sign at new Fashion District space.


The Kaufman Organization has helped high-end fashion designer Adrienne Landau, find a new space for her office and showroom at 519 Eighth Ave. in the Fashion District. The designer signed a 10-year lease for 12,000 square feet at the fashion-filled building.

According to Steven Kaufman and Barbara Raskob of the Kaufman Organization, who represented the landlord in the transaction, the asking price was $30 per square foot. Scott Bennett of Prime Manhattan Realty represented the tenant.

519 Eighth Avenue was built in 1929 and features 349,000 square feet and is 26 floors. The Kaufman Organization recently spent $1.5 million refurbishing the lobby and facade, a move that attracted four new retail tenants to the building. The asking rent for the space was $125 per square foot.

Building amenities include 24/7 building access, concierge, high-speed Internet, and on-site management and is 97 percent leased. Prime tenants include the Metropolitan Transit Authority, Bernard Chaus Inc., University Sports Publications, New York New York, state, United States
New York, Middle Atlantic state of the United States. It is bordered by Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and the Atlantic Ocean (E), New Jersey and Pennsylvania (S), Lakes Erie and Ontario and the Canadian province of
 Elevator Company and Vanguard Direct.
