Designer appeal.
SIR: I am researching the architecture and interior design of London coffee bars of the 1950s. A central part of my research is to make contact with (and hopefully interview) people who were associated with the bars--either as owners, designers, architects, employees or customers.
I am particularly keen to contact the designers who were responsible for the interiors. I am aware that a number of these people are no longer alive but there are some about whom I have been able to find nothing. One of these is Geoffrey A. Crockett FRIBA FRIBA Fellow of the Royal Institute of British Architects who designed bars such as La Ronde La Ronde may refer to: - La Ronde (amusement park), an amusement park in Montreal, Quebec, Canada
- La Ronde, Charente-Maritime, a commune in the Charente-Maritime département, in France
- La Ronde (play), Arthur Schnitzler's 1897 play also known as
(Baker Strect), Negresco (Brook Street Brook Street is one of the principal streets on the Grosvenor Estate in the exclusive central London district of Mayfair. It was developed in the first half of the 18th century and runs from Hanover Square to Grosvenor Square. ), Sarabia (Onslow Crescent), Pinnochio (Frith Street Frith Street is in the Soho area of London, England. To the north is Soho Square and to the south is Shaftesbury Avenue. The street crosses Old Compton Street.
Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club is located at No. 47. ), and the Moka-Ris (Dean Street). I would be delighted if any of your readers could tell me anything at all about Mr Crockett.
