ATLANTA -- According to a recent survey commissioned by Philips Electronics (NYSE: PHG)(AEX: PHI), approximately three-fourths (73%) of consumers would like to update their kitchen and one-third (35%) of respondents report that they want to do a complete renovation. To provide these aspiring consumers with a step-by-step guide for their own renovation process, Philips Electronics engaged nationally-recognized designer Stephen Saint-Onge to transform his kitchen into an elegant, high-tech space that showcases how innovative technologies and design elements can be easily integrated to create a kitchen for every lifestyle.

The kitchen renovation is the second in a series of technology and design makeovers created as part of Philips' Designing at Home campaign. "As a designer, I think it's important to dispel the myth that incorporating technology into the home means abandoning traditional style choices, especially for consumers who may have more conservative tastes or for those who may live in older homes," said Saint-Onge who has made guest appearances on Oprah, The View and CNN and will be a featured columnist in the recently launched lifestyle publication Cottage Living. When it comes to creating your own high-tech kitchen environment, Saint-Onge offers consumers the following tips:
