Beginning this spring, The Charles Hotel, Harvard Square's most sophisticated and unique accommodation, unveils a new look for its front-of-the-house staff through an exclusive partnership with national retailer, J.Crew.

In March, the American sportswear clothier will outfit the hotel's front desk attendants, bellmen, doormen, and concierge in finely-tailored, colorful selections from its 2004 spring collection. This exciting partnership with J.Crew brings The Charles into the elite group of hotels that showcase designer wear as "uniforms."

Apparel worn by the Charles Hotel staff will be updated each season, as the retailer introduces new collections to the public.

Plans call for hotel front desk attendants, doormen and concierge to wear grey tropical wool pants with navy blazers paired with either a yellow, light blue or pink cotton habadashery shirt and coordinating colorful Repp ties. Women will be outfitted in lightweight navy blue pants or skirt suiting. Bellmen will wear dress chinos chi·no
