Design's daring generation.The work of twelve exciting young architects from Mexico City Mexico City Spanish Ciudad de México City (pop., 2000: city, 8,605,239; 2003 metro. area est., 18,660,000), capital of Mexico. Located at an elevation of 7,350 ft (2,240 m), it is officially coterminous with the Federal District, which occupies 571 sq mi is the focus of the exhibition Mexico City Dialogues: New Architectural Practices, presented by the Center for Architecture January January: see month. 27-May 7, 2005. On view will be fourteen fresh projects, two of them still in development and the rest completed within the past year and a half. Also on display will be contextual information to suggest how the challenging realities of Mexico City shape the work of these architects. The first international exhibition organized by the Center for Architecture, Mexico City Dialogues not only invites New Yorkers to meet a daring younger generation of architects but also to begin a conversation with them, comparing building and design practices in the two cities.
