NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 4, 2000

Desgrippes Gobe turns its "Emotional Branding" expertise inward to position itself for the new internet See Web 2.0 and Internet2.  economy.

Throughout the 90's the international image and brand creation firm helped clients such as Reebok Ree´bok`

IBM's product lines include the S/390 mainframes (zSeries), AS/400 midrange business systems (iSeries), RS/6000 workstations and servers (pSeries), Intel-based servers (xSeries) ), Air France and Danone to establish powerful relationships with their audiences through branding programs that rely on sensory experiences and a thorough understanding of the consumer.

On April 4, that tradition starts anew, as the firm's name is officially abbreviated to the dynamic symbol, d/g*.

"d/g* is an idea forum," says Marc Gobe, president of the New York New York, state, United States

office. " It introduces a new model for communications firms that transcends the limited notion of design solutions, to provide clients with forward-thinking on brand creation and management."

This relaunch goes hand-in-hand with the redesign of the firm's logo and web site (http://www.dga.com).

"Our original name reflected the identity of the founding designers, but was not always easy to pronounce, and therefore, remember," says Peter Levine, principal and executive creative director. "d/g* is a short and memorable name that itself becomes a logo and creates a visual language. It reflects our evolution from a one-city office to an international organization with offices in Paris, New York This article is about the New York town. For other uses, see Paris (disambiguation).

, Tokyo, Seoul and Brussels."

The new logo is made up of four symbols that represent the firm's disciplines: a star represents its marketing and design expertise; a bull's eye with the letter "C" at the center represents the firm's consulting practice; a building represents its architectural expertise; and an eye represents its interactive capabilities.

"Today, success on the Internet no longer depends on how technology-advanced the offering is," Gobe concludes. "It depends on how well a brand can connect with the consumer. Our expertise in Emotional Branding answers this need and it is critical for us to visually communicate our understanding of the new economic landscape. Our new logo does it."

d/g* is one of the top ten image and brand creation firms in the world and a member of the American Association of Advertising Agencies The American Association of Advertising Agencies (AAAA) is an American advertising trade association.

Founded in 1917, their website states that AAAA membership "produces approximately 80 percent of the total advertising volume placed by agencies nationwide.
