Desert Publications Acquires Sand to Sea Magazine; Sand to Sea to be Combined With Palm Springs Life.PALM SPRINGS, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 2, 1999--Milton Jones, president of Desert Publications Inc., and publisher of Palm Springs Life magazine, and Gloria Greer, president and publisher of Sand to Sea magazine, today announced the consolidation of the two magazines by the acquisition of Sand to Sea by Palm Springs Life. Terms of the acquisition were not announced. Sand to Sea will be a special supplement of Palm Springs Life, June 1999 issue. Greer will become a consulting executive editor of Palm Springs Life, and will continue her well-known, long-time reporting and commenting on the social, entertainment and cultural activities of all of Southern California Southern California, also colloquially known as SoCal, is the southern portion of the U.S. state of California. Centered on the cities of Los Angeles and San Diego, Southern California is home to nearly 24 million people and is the nation's second most populated region, and particularly the Coachella Valley Coachella Valley (kō'əchĕl`ə), arid region, SE Calif., N of the Salton Sea. Water is brought into the region by artesian wells and by the Coachella Canal (123 mi/198 km long), a branch of the All-American Canal built between 1938 and where she has been a resident for many years. Greer also will be editor of a new section in Palm Springs Life, "The Desert Charity Register," that will appear initially in the November 1999 issue.
