), a trusted provider of logistics solutions, today announced that the company will hold a free seminar on December 18, 2002 in Hong Kong Hong Kong (hŏng kŏng), Mandarin Xianggang, special administrative region of China, formerly a British crown colony (2005 est. pop. 6,899,000), land area 422 sq mi (1,092 sq km), adjacent to Guangdong prov.  to educate the shipper and carrier community on the tools available to comply with new U.S. Customs Container Security (CSI) regulations.

Beginning February 1, 2003 new CSI regulations will take affect requiring maritime cargo manifests for all U.S.-bound goods to be electronically filed 24 hours before a vessel leaves port. Designed to educate NVOCCs (Non Vessel Operating Common Carrier) about the new regulations and Descartes (DSG) solutions, over 100 attendees are expected to attend the seminar hosted by DSG.

Being held at the City University of Hong Kong The university has a community of more than 12,000 undergraduates and 6,000 postgraduates. International students account for around 5% of the student population. The official language of instruction is English. , the three-hour seminar will begin at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, December 18, 2002 and will provide attendees with an opportunity to meet one-on-one with DSG experts and learn more about how DSG solutions can assist shippers and carriers in complying with the new regulatory measures.
