Of these 1592 fingerprint identifications, 178 were from palm print identifications. Additionally, within the citation processing area, the upgraded system provides "real-time" processing from booking to court appearance, which has dramatically reduced the number of warrants issued for people who fail to appear for their court date. "We are extremely pleased with the successful results the Metro-Nashville Police Department was able to achieve with our AFIS technology," said Dean Petty, Client Solutions Manager, Identification Solutions Division of NEC Corporation of America.
