Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld announced today that the president has made the following nominations:

Army Col. Robert M. Brown For the theologian and activist, see .
Robert M. Brown was the Chief Engineer for Union Pacific Railroad in the 1960s and 1970s. For his work with the railroad, Modern Railways magazine selected Brown to receive the magazine's Man of the Year award in 1978; the award has since

Army Col. Walter L. Davis has been nominated for promotion to the rank of brigadier general. Davis is currently inbound as the commander, 20th Support Command (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and High Yield Explosive), Aberdeen Proving Ground Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG) is a United States Army facility located near Aberdeen, Maryland (in Harford County).

The Army's oldest active proving ground, it was established on October 20, 1917, six months after the United States entered World War I.
