He was designated a Naval Aviator in October 1975. for appointment to the rank of vice admiral ADMIRAL, officer. In some countries is the commander in chief of the naval forces. This office does not exist in the United States. and assignment as commander, SECOND Fleet, Norfolk, Va. Fitzgerald is currently serving as director, Air Warfare air warfare Military operations conducted by airplanes, helicopters, or other aircraft against aircraft or targets on the ground and in the water.
