Rear Adm. Alan S. Thompson Thompson, city, Canada Thompson, city (1991 pop. 14,977), central Man., Canada, on the Burntwood River. A mining town, it developed after large nickel deposits were discovered in the area in 1956. is being assigned as·sign tr.v. as·signed, as·sign·ing, as·signs 1. To set apart for a particular purpose; designate: assigned a day for the inspection.

Supply Systems Command/chief of Supply Corps, Mechanicsburg, Pa.
Thompson is currently serving as director, Supply Ordnance and Logistics
