Department of Defense News Release (March 23, 2007): general officer assignments.


The chief of staff, Air Force announces the assignments of the following general officers:

Maj. Gen. Wendell L. Griffin, director, Global Reach Programs, Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Acquisition, Pentagon, Washington, D.C., to Air Force chief of safety, Headquarters U.S. Air Force, Pentagon, Washington, D.C., and commander, Air Force Safety Center, Kirtland Air Force Base Kirtland Air Force Base is located in the southeast quadrant of Albuquerque, New Mexico, adjacent to the Albuquerque International Sunport. The base is the third largest installation in Air Force Materiel Command, covering 51,558 acres (209 km²) and employing over 23,000 people, , N.M.
