After performing an extensive analysis of Denville township's existing municipal offices, which were housed in a former elementary school, KSS Architects was hired to design a new facility for the township.

KSS Architects' partner Edmund E Klimek, project manager Stephen A. Doyle and project architect Kristen E. Mattioni are handling the assignment.

The new Denville

Township Municipal Building and Public Safety Complex will encompass 28,000 s/f of space. It will house the municipal offices, as well as the Council chamber and courtroom, a new community room and administrative offices for the Police Department.

The complex will be arranged around a forecourt and garden that will serve as the public face of the facility. Offices will be arranged with an open layout where feasible, to allow for more interaction between departments.

"Denville's existing municipal offices were operating beyond capacity and the township was in serious need of an updated facility," said Klimek. "The new brick and stone building will be a more prominent feature within the community and will better meet the needs of the township employees and residents."

KSS Architects" design for the two-story building includes a centralized lobby from which the municipal offices will radiate. According to Klimek, this design will allow the public to more easily utilize the building and enable the municipality to operate more efficiently.
