Denver Resident Named Chair of The Association for Work Process Improvement.


DENVER--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 2, 1999--

Denver business owner Karen A. Cominiello has been elected chair of the board of directors of The Association for Work Process Improvement (TAWPI (The Association for Work Process Improvement, Boston, MA, www.tawpi.org) A membership organization dedicated to the improvement of work processes in data capture, document and remittance processing. ) at the Boston-based association's 29th annual forum and exposition exposition or exhibition, term frequently applied to an organized public fair or display of industrial and artistic productions, designed usually to promote trade and to reflect cultural progress.  which is being held at the Colorado Convention Center The Colorado Convention Center is a multi-purpose convention center in downtown Denver, Colorado which recently underwent a major expansion. The expansion added 600,000 sq. feet of space and a 5,200 seat concert hall. The total area of the convention center is 1.2 million sq. feet. .

Ms. Cominiello is a former director of operations at The Polk Company, a database-marketing firm based in Detroit, and now owns a business in Arvada. She has more than 18 years experience in the data capture industry, having lived and managed operations in the Caribbean and Central America Central America, narrow, southernmost region (c.202,200 sq mi/523,698 sq km) of North America, linked to South America at Colombia. It separates the Caribbean from the Pacific. . Ms. Cominiello has traveled around the world training and establishing vendor facilities to process consumer data.

She is a member of the downtown Denver chapter of the Business and Professional Women's Association and The Association for Image Information Management. She is certified See certification.  in both data management and professional management. Prior to her tenure at Polk, Ms. Cominiello was a professional guitarist and singer for 15 years.
