Denny Jiosa: Jazzberry Pie (Blue Orchid 2024-2).

Denny Jiosa Denny Jiosa is a United States jazz guitarist and composer who received three Grammy nominations for his recording engineering work.[1] Born in Huntington, Indiana, Jiosa now lives in Nashville, Tennessee. : Jazzberry Pie (Blue Orchid 2024-2)

Although it does make you wonder when you read the credits and find that guitarist Denny Jiosa not only took the lead not only in performing and writing all the songs on this CD, but also took the lead in producing, engineering, and mixing -- kind of like Ed Wood's role as producer, director, and writer of the immortal Plan Nine from Outer Space -- you'll you'll

1. Having a pleasing flavor; savory.

2. Having or showing good taste; tasteful.

as its name implies, although perhaps less filling. Jiosa leans toward music that is pleasant and tuneful, but manages to make it interesting as well. The sound quality is a bit bass-heavy, but I'm sure there are many listeners who will count that as a plus. Recently, I saw this CD packaged together with an earlier Jiosa CD for the price of one, making it a nice bargain, but I'm not sure how widespread or long-lasting that promotional deal will be.-- KWN KWN Kid Witness News (video education program)
