Denny's Sweetens Holidays With Pies, Toys and Community Outreach.

SPARTANBURG, S.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 20, 1998--What do bean-bag toys, caramel praline pie and a local charity drive have in common? All can be found at Denny's restaurants this holiday season.

During the holidays, Denny's employees will spearhead local charity efforts to collect donations such as toys, clothing and non-perishable food items for community organizations that help disadvantaged children and their families. Denny's 1998 Community Cheer program runs through Dec. 21 at participating Denny's restaurants.

Also in time for the holidays, participating Denny's restaurants across the country will sell exclusive, bean-bag plush toys of the animated All Dogs Go To Heaven characters, Itchy and Charlie. The holiday promotion is timed to coincide with the Nov. 17 release of An All Dogs Christmas Carol, a new direct-to-video release from MGM Home Entertainment. The Denny's holiday toys will be available for a limited time only, and sell for $2.99 each (suggested U.S. retail price), no food purchase necessary.

In addition to its seasonal pecan and pumpkin pie offerings, Denny's has introduced a new Caramel Praline Pie, sold by the slice or whole pie. Denny's newest pie features a sugar-cone crust filled with luscious caramel oozing between layers of rich vanilla cream, whipped topping and sweet crunchy pralines.

Denny's restaurants will be open Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day with a special holiday menu featuring traditional favorites.
