Denison Industries receives "Award of Excellence" from U.S. Navy. (North America).


Denison Industries, Denison, Texas Denison is a city in Grayson County, Texas, United States. The population was 22,773 at the 2000 census, but had increased to an estimated population of 23,957 in July 2006. , was named one of the U.S. Navy's Aegis Program's top suppliers when it received the "Award of Excellence." The award is given to less than 2% of the Navy's suppliers.

"We helped transition a labor-intensive production process, involving the welding welding, process for joining separate pieces of metal in a continuous metallic bond. The castings are the train base, a circular piece more than 40 in. in diameter, a smaller elevation gear housing called a "suitcase," and a 330-lb elevation drive housing, nicknamed "turtle" because of its shape.

 Ingram, the Navy decided to replace weldments with aluminum castings 10 yr ago. Denison won the bid after its designs survived a series of shock and pressure tests to prove they were, as strong as the steel weldments.
