Dendrite Awarded Support Services Business By Global Medical Device Manufacturer; Comprehensive Services Contract Covers Help Desk and Hardware Support.

Dendrite International, Inc. (NASDAQ: DRTE) today announced that it has signed a comprehensive services agreement with Ethicon Endo-Surgery, Inc., the world's leading manufacturer of minimally invasive and traditional surgical instruments.

Under a multi-year contract, Dendrite will provide complete hardware and software support services for the company's entire U.S. sales force.

From its Morristown, New Jersey headquarters, Dendrite will provide customer support/help desk services for a broad range of third-party software packages and proprietary web-based applications. These enable representatives to analyze sales information and manage territories, order materials, access contract information, expense reports, and review product content.

Dendrite will also provide complete asset management services for notebook computers from its hardware services facility in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. This facility repairs, upgrades, and supports a broad range of equipment, including laptops/palmtops, printers/monitors, docking stations/expansion bays, and accessories such as CD-ROM and floppy drives, cable and power cords, as well as batteries and chargers. In 2001, Dendrite repaired or upgraded more than 23,000 laptops and handheld devices for sales representatives and shipped over 14,500 replacement parts directly to representatives in the field.
