Denali Education Center Announces New Name Expands Wilderness Appreciation Programs.

DENALI NATIONAL PARK, Alaska -- The Denali Foundation has changed its name to the Denali Education Center to better reflect its ongoing focus on education. This non-profit organization continues an 18-year tradition of dedication to research, education and communication that benefits the Denali National Park bioregion, the State of Alaska and the planet.

Last year, the Denali Education Center provided educational programs for more than 7,000 people ranging in age from children at all grade levels through varied curricula for adults and seniors. "The Denali Education Center curriculum helps today's program participants become tomorrow's responsible stewards of the planet. Promoting wilderness appreciation and connection to the land benefit the health and welfare of everyone," said Willie Karidis, Executive Director.

"Wherever someone finds their Denali, their wild place, from the backyard garden to the neighborhood park, an opportunity for inspiration exists," Mr. Karidis continued. "We need to connect to the land because herein lies the answers to the future of the earth. We have to imagine the possibilities, focus on our common beginnings, believe in our ability to make a difference in our future, and do more to become a balanced world."
