Democrats recently announced that they were backing out of a Fox News-sponsored debate in Nevada. The reason? Fox's supposed conservative bias. The charge against the network was led by the so-called "netroots," the party's angry Internet base. They apparently prefer the Keith Olbermann-anchored, Chris Matthews-moderated debates held by MSNBC MSNBC Microsoft/National Broadcasting Company . But a comparison between the recent Republican debates on the two channels shows a world of difference. Fox's questions were serious and revealing, and the moderators were willing to press candidates who attempted to dodge questions. MSNBC, on the other hand, tried to turn the debate into a game show, with dumb DEAF, DUMB, AND BLIND. A man born deaf, dumb, and blind, is considered an idiot. (q.v.) 1 Bl. Com. 304; F. N. B. 233; 2 Bouv. Inst. n. 2111.

DUMB. One who cannot speak; a person who is mute. See Deaf and dumb, Deaf, dumb, and blind; Mute, standing mute.

queries. The Democrats' refusal to participate in a debate on the highest-rated cable news network is a pander To pimp; to cater to the gratification of the lust of another. Certainly in this instance, the only bias we see on Fox's part is toward professionalism.
